Pro Tips
-
Stay in Wulingyuan for the park — saves 1.5 hours of commuting per day. Move to city hotel for Tianmen Mountain day.
-
Hire a car for the Glass Bridge — public transport is infrequent and slow. A car gives you flexibility.
-
The park shuttle buses are free — don't pay for a private guide who offers to "drive you around the park."
-
Download Amap — Google Maps doesn't work. Amap handles Zhangjiajie's winding mountain roads well.
-
Bring motion sickness medicine — the roads to the Glass Bridge are very winding.
